Academy Award Winner, Actress Emma Stone will be seen in a completely different avatar in her upcoming film. She will be seen in the role of one of the most iconic Disney villains; ‘Cruella De Vil’. We have seen Cruella in Disney’s 101 Dalmatians; Cruella who stole dogs to fashion out fur coats from them. Disney announced the news at the D23 Expo in California. They also released the first photo of Emma as Cruella; where the actress is seen in Cruella's signature half black and half white hair holding three full-grown Dalmatians. But instead of sporting fur coat she is seen sporting a leather jacket.
The film is the origin story of Cruella and how she became so obsessed with stealing dogs to make fur coats. At the Expo, the actress herself revealed that the movie will be set in London during the punk-rock era; and that’s clearly visible in the actress’s look from the movie. The movie is titled as ‘Cruella’. This movie will also star Emma Thompson, Paul Walter Hauser and Joel Fry and the movie will be directed by Craig Gillespie who was the director of the film “I, Tonya”. Cruella is expected to release on 28th May 2021.
