Tribalgirl from Maoist-affected zone creates history

No teacher dared to come and teach to the Maoist-affected zone of Sukma, most of the days the schools were empty. In this unfavorable situation, a girl named Maya Kashyap dared to dream. Maya said to an eminent newspaper that she wanted to be a doctor since her childhood.

She belonged from a state which is infamous for Maoist activities, lost her father 9 years ago, faced economical problems. Despite of all the problems this extraordinary girl secured 154th rank among STs,12,315 overall in the state in NEET this year and took admission in Ambikapur Medical College. In May 2018, the Medical Council of India had approved 100 MBBS seats for this college. According to the situation achieving her goals were impossible. This brave girl said in an interview that she never looked at the obstacles, instead she was always focused towards her gaols. After achieving her gaol, she did not stop. Maya understands the conditions in the region from where she belongs and after medical school, she wants to return to the area and serve her people.
