The Woman doing Wonders in the Armed Forces

In the Indian scenario, a woman in combat forces has been increasing simultaneously; proving, rather standing up with their sheer capabilities.

Woman in armed forces has been quite an uncommon view as to consider the decade long root of the belief that, women are inferior in many aspects compared to their male counterparts, which still persists in our daily lives. However, to break away from the stereotypes set forth by the society, Dr. Seema Rao has been nothing more than ‘India’s Wonder Woman’ progressing with her dedication in commando training as she became the first woman to do so in India. With the thought of serving the country from a young age and the inspiration received from her father, Professor Ramakant Senari, a freedom fighter of India, she certified as a doctor in conventional medicine. Then she went on to complete an MBA in crisis management and along with her partner Deepak Rao she also contributed to training 15000 soldiers in modern close quarter battle. According to reports, having a childhood history of being bullied and dominated by her peers in school worked as a driving force to change the situation. Apart from these educational qualifications, she has an 8th degree Blackbelt in military martial arts and marks her name among the authorized trainer of ‘Jeet Kune Do’ all over the world. She has also earned Para Wings for Indian Armed Forces for skydiving. Not just physical skills she has been Mrs. India World beauty pageant finalist and also considered to be a prolific author. After getting married to Deepak Rao they both engaged in training commandos to fight in close quarter battles and has been working for 18 years. The pair trained about 15000 commandos in their career till now, including Indian Para Special Forces, Commando wing, Corps Battle School, Academics, and Regt Centre, Navy MARCOS marine commandos, NSG Black Cat, Air Force GARUD, ITBP, Paramilitary, Police units, etc. Her dedication to serving the nation with the best she can provide led her to choose a life without a biological child, for which she chose to adopt a girl child as her own, named Dr. Komal Rao who is now 25years old and following her parent’s footsteps as well. Dr. Seema Rao has been fighting odds since her childhood setting up examples and inspirations alike for all to accept woman, as fierce and strong as men, to be able to work outside the domestic periphery they are often restricted to and prosper in the fields where their contributions are equally important.
