The Modern ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’ of Kerala

Internet was recently stormed with a viral video of a teenage girl riding a horse dressed up in school uniform carrying bag-pack on her shoulder. The residence of kerala’s Thrissur district identified as Krishna was seen riding the horse confidently holding thee strap firmly and absconding the narrow lanes with  her her bag recoiling on her shoulder.

In an interview the bold teenager Krishna revealed that it was not her first time riding a horse. She rides it whenever she feels bore and on special occasions. The footage of Krishna riding the horse was the last day of her 10th board examination which she considered as a ‘special’ occasion. Krishna also discloses that she had been learning horse riding when she was in class 7.The first horse she trained upon was gifted by her father that helped Krishna to control the horse and master the art. After years of learning and practice she has levelled up as a pro rider and can easily ride anywhere.

The reason which made Krishna determined to learn this skill was a statement made by his friend saying that horse riding is a very difficult job and impossible for girls to master in this skill. She pointed out in an interview that, ’Jhansi Ki Rani was also a girl so if she can master this skill why can’t a normal girl like me ride a horse’.

Her courage and boldness is appreciated by the industrialist Anand Mahindra as he considers Krishna as an inspiration to other girls to step out of their comfort zone and show their skills without any hesitation. He also express to keep a screen saver of krishna’s horse riding photo as in his phone.

This is the “INCREDIBLE INDIA” and our education system is reaching its zenith of success day by day.
