Indian actress-filmmaker Nandita Das will be honored with the FIAPF Award at the 12th Asia Pacific Screen Award on November 29. Das will achieve this award for her innovative and unconventional films. She is known for her acting in the controversial film ‘Fire’ (1996) and ‘Earth’ (1998) and how can we forget her film ‘Between the Lines’. The movie deals about gender inequality in middle-class India. Meanwhile, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqi is also nominated for a performance at the APSAs.
Nandita Das’s second feature ‘Manto’ created the right buzz in the audience when it was released. Her film was premiered in Uncertain Regard in Cannes this year and has been picked up by festivals including Sydney, Busan, and Toronto. Well, what can we say more than all hail to you lady!!!
