Yamuna Sangarasivam a simple Indian girl went to audition for the King of Pop Michael Jackson’s video. She never thought that stardom would brush on her very soon and she would become a known face from Asia to Europe.
When MJ's video “Black or White” hit MTV in Los Angeles market Yamuna became one of adoring smiles. People often came up to her and asked: “Are you the one?”
“Black or White” is a pleasant detour of dances from different countries. Yamuna is an Odissi dancer and had danced with the MJ himself.
The video broke new ground in the use of video technology and promoting the theme of multiculturalism. She enjoyed the experience very much and she said, “I feel fortunate that I am not caught up with it, it was a great experience and a wonderful opportunity in that type of performance mode”.
