Secret to darker Mehendi

Weddings call for different kinds of beauty treatments and in India, weddings are an elaborate family function, where we have ‘sangeet’, ‘Mehendi’, then ‘Shaadi’ and after that reception. All in all, it’s a week-long process. We are talking about weddings because the wedding season is here and we all love getting decked up for it and ‘Mehendi’ is a very vital part of our weddings. Indians believe that a husband’s love is directly proportional to the darkness of the bride’s mehendi. Well, that’s all a myth but we all want our Mehendi to be darker as it looks good. So here are few home remedies to make your mehendi darker.

  1. You should always apply mehendi on clean hands. Keep the mehendi for hours. Best to keep it overnight and wash it in the morning.
  2. Boil some water with sugar and add some lemon juice to it. Put that mixture on your hands. Use a cotton ball and dab the mixture softly on the mehendi designs.
  3. Avoid water and soap as much as you can. You can use a knife to remove the mehendi after it dries completely.
