Priyanka Chopra made her grand entry at the Toronto International Film Festival 2019 on Friday, September 13. Like always, she was slaying in a ravishing white and black gown which had layered frills. Her upcoming film “The Sky is Pink” had its world premiere at the TIFF 2019 at Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto. The film also stars Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf.
The ‘Desi Girl’ was seen donning a stunning Marchesa FW19 RTW gown with a sweetheart neckline. The gown also had a black satin belt which also added extra grace to the whole outfit. Her hair looked perfect as she kept it simple syncing it well with the outfit. The overall look with the ‘winged liner-nude brown lips’ makeup and the ensemble worked extremely well. PeeCee never fails to impress us every time she makes an appearance, with her charisma.
She walked the red carpet with Farhan Akhtar and his girlfriend, Shibani Dandekar, Rohit Saraf and the film’s director, Shonali Bose. Farhan and Rohit looked dapper in a suit and Shibani and Shonali looked beautiful as well. Zaira, who announced her retirement from the entertainment industry this year, did not attend premiere.
The ‘Quantico’ actress took to her social media handle to share a series of Instagram stories from the mega event. Talking about the film, she said, “It was a really hard juxtaposition of real life for me, especially because I was getting married and at the same time this film deals with loss, loss of a child, which is such an unnatural way of being.”
People get surprised when they see ‘The Sky is Pink’ and they’re like, ‘this is not a Bollywood movie.’ Bollywood is not a genre!” Chopra told at a media interaction in Toronto. “It really is my quest to educate people in that.
Priyanka shared a picture with the team on her Instagram handle and wrote "Tonight at Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto we introduce #theskyispink to the world at @tiff_net. What an exhilarating moment...I could not be more proud of this film. Are we going to see you tonight??!! @shonalibose_ @faroutakhtar @rohitsaraf10."
‘The Sky is Pink’ is based on the life of Aisha Chaudhary (played by Zaira Wasim), who became a motivational speaker after being diagnosed with an immune deficiency order at the age of 13. The film narrates the practical, emotional and relationship struggles faced by Aisha’s parents Aditi and Niren, portrayed by Priyanka and Farhan, as she fights for her life. It is co-produced by Priyanka, Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur, and will hit the big screens on October 11.
‘The Sky is Pink’ marks the Bollywood comeback of Priyanka after a break of three years.
