1. Some nail polish contains food within them. Most of the nail polish that gives a brighter finish adds garlic that helps to fortify and harden the nails. Cucumber is also added in many nail polishes.

2. There are altogether 13 types of nail finishes. You want to know the types? Here we go: crème, micro shimmer, glitter, micro glitter, shimmer, prismatic micro glitter, opalescent, iridescent, translucent, duo chrome, matte, lustre, frost.

3. If you love neon nail polish then make sure that it is illegal to use that. FDA is yet to approve it. Normally the FDA approved colours are only used but at times people use the imported ones also.

4. Nail polish is in fact originated in China around 3000 BC. Do you have any idea of the ingredients? Take a look. Egg whites, vegetable dyes, beeswax, gelatin are the ingredients used to make nail polish.

5. Do you know that in ancient Egypt nail polishes were used to distinguish between the different classes of people? The upper class people used to wear dark red colour which is iconic. Whereas the lower class people had to wear nude colours or light nail polish to signify their standard.
