No more armour for women

For the first time in India, the Central Reserve Police Force or CRPF has unveiled a body gear for the women personnel. They used the body gears designed for men for all these years. Those suits were ridiculously large as they were made for men. The armor has anti-acid and anti-stab protects all parts of the body including rib cage, back of the arm, inner calf, thigh, and groin areas. It is made with the same material as that of the male ones.

They are available in all sizes. In comparison to the body gears, the women personnel have been using till now the new ones will provide better mobility. More than 300 personnel have been posted in Jammu & Kashmir, the body gear will be of great use as the force has the task of controlling the stone pelters. The armor has been designed by the Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences. The Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences is a part of the Defence Research and Development Organisation. It took two years of research to make the prototype body gear. The new design was unveiled by the CRPF Director General R R Bhatnagar at the forces’ headquarters in New Delhi.
