Meet the ‘living heritage’ of Bolivia

She can still sing in her indigenous native tongue and strums the five strings tiny Andean guitar. Meet Julia Flores Colque and she is almost 118 years.

Don’t believe us? Don’t have to. But in her life, she has witnessed two world wars, revolution and the whole transformation of her rural town of Sacaba. This lady revealed that she witnessed mass change which is spectacular (isn’t it). Well, her national identity card says Julia was born on October 26, 1900.

She is 117 and just 10 months old, making her the oldest living person in the world. These days, Julia enjoys the company of her dogs, rooster, and cats. When asked what she loved the most? You will be surprised to know the answer, good cakes and singing folkloric songs in Quechua.

Don’t go by her age, Julia is full of life, active and easy-going. Even though the doctor said she will never be able to walk again, she proved them wrong.
