Let’s meet Shanaz Khan, who became the sarpanch in the Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. She is young, and an MBBS student.
She seemed happy to serve the people around her and she clearly stated that her priorities will be maintaining the sanitation, hygiene, and education of women in their locality. Moreover, she tries her best to keep her academics apart from this job.
She comes from a family which has a pretty good political background. Her grandfather used to hold the position of sarpanch for 55 years and her father was, in fact, the head of the village. Moreover, her mother held the post of MLA in Rajasthan.
Shanaz is pursuing her MBBS from Tirthankar Mahavir Medical College in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. She is focusing on women empowerment and other related activities like 'Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao'. She personally believes that women education is extremely essential in today’s social scenario.
