The ever-charming and beautiful Lillete Dubey is a treat to watch. An artist par excellence has ruled both the theatre and the silver screen. And now she is all set to mesmerize the Bengali film industry with her acting skills. Lillete will be seen in Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha’s next. The film is titled as ‘Shock Ahlad’. She will play a crucial role in the movie, that will have Arjun Chakrabarty and Sauraseni Moitra in the lead roles. There is a hint of comedy in the title only, and the movie is said to be a romantic comedy. Talking about her role Lillete says,
“I am playing a Punjabi grandmother whose daughter is married to Bengali. She is very forward-thinking, fun-loving and a kind of granny with whom you bond and talk to since she is very open-minded about everything. It’s a fun character, very real, and nicely written, and I have a lot of Bengali co-actor friends in it.”
Lillete’s fans are naturally very excited to see her explore something new as the actor herself admits that she is always open to experiments and this movie provides her the opportunity to do a different kind of role. The movie revolves around the love and crisis faced by the present generation. Churni Ganguly, June Malia and Kaushik Sen will also be seen in pivotal roles. In addition to ‘Shock Ahlad’ Lillete has also been roped in for Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s next, ‘Season’s Greetings’. There Lillete will play the role of a lonely mother. We cannot wait to see her in a Bengali film, her 28 years long impressive theatre work has enthralled us and, in every movie, she has been a part of, her performance stood out from the rest.
