Kangana Ranaut has never failed to impress us with her power-packed performances. After the huge success of ‘Manikarnika’, Kangana will once again be seen in an action film, titled as ‘Dhaakad’. The film’s poster was released on Saturday. The poster features Kangana standing in the middle of a burning set with her back towards the camera and guns in both hands. The poster instantly reminds us of Angelina Jolie’s Lara Croft from the film Tomb Raider. Kangana in a statement said,
“After the success of Manikarnika, it has been proven that the audience across the globe is loving larger than life films with a female hero. Dhaakad is not only a benchmark film for my career but will be a turning point for Indian cinema as well. the film is mounted on a large scale, is one of a kind female-led action film and is apt for a Diwali release. If it is received well, there will be no looking back for women in Indian Cinema.”
The plot of the film has not yet been revealed. It will be directed by ad filmmaker Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai and produced by Sohel Maklai Productions and Asylum Films in association with Qyuki Digital Media. Both Razy and Sohel are Kangana’s friends and the actress herself revealed that they have been planning for this project for a long time. The first look has definitely piqued our interest. Mostly the female protagonists in action films are seen in the role of damsels in distress but the scenario is changing with time and the Indian film industry is progressing; widening the horizons for the female actors.
