Mirabai Chanu has created history by winning the first gold medal at the 21st Common Wealth Games held in Australia. It’s a great achievement for her as well as for the people of our country. She is a strong-willed woman, that made a record of elevating the barbell thrice with a weight of 80kg, 84kg, and 86kg in her three efforts respectively.
Though she is only 48kg, she managed to lift the double weight barbell in the second round of clean and jerk, and setting an outstanding record of 196kg. She has performed extraordinarily, making India win the first gold medal in 2018 Common Wealth Games.
