Hiccups: Not Their Cup of Tea

If your baby is having hiccups, never panic. Measures of pacification are always there. All you need is to calm down and understand the pattern of their behaviour. It is common for the babies to have hiccups but can unnerve the new mothers. Let us talk about a few things that can help you get rid of the hiccup problem in your baby.

  1. Never try to feed your baby too much at a time. Give breaks and feed him in small quantities.
  2. If your baby is grown up enough to bottle feed in a sitting position then give him support at the back.
  3. If it is a newborn, then hold in the vertical position and feed him at an angle of 45 degrees.
  4. Never allow your baby to sleep during bottle feeding.
  5. Make sure you clean your baby’s bottles regularly. Any obstruction while taking the milk in, can lead to more air passage resulting in hiccups.
