Guess The Hindi Word Of The Year 2018

Women empowerment has always been the focus of the government. Our government is working very progressively towards the welfare of women in order to empower them. This effort has been recognized internationally as well. The Oxford dictionaries declared ‘Nari Shakti’ as the Hindi word of the year in January at the Jaipur Literature Festival. ‘Nari’ means women and ‘Shakti’ means power. A press release was issued for the event which said, the phrase

has attracted a great deal of attention and reflects the ethos, mood, or preoccupations

The central government has been actively promoting the development of women’s condition in society. Centre has ruled over the ‘triple talaq’, expanded the ‘Beti Padhao and Beti Bachao’ campaign and allowed the entry of women in the Sabarimala temple of Kerala legitimized the phrase even more. The phrase was vastly used on several occasion at different discussion platforms in 2018 which attracted the attention of the officials.

The word has been selected by the Oxford Dictionaries India with the help of an advisory panel of language experts, including Namita Gokhale, Randhir Thakur, Kritika Agrawal, and Saurabh Dwivedi.
