Great initiative by Bandhan Mukti

A 28 years old girl after getting harassed and insulted by her neighbours and members of an extended family for a long time she decided to approach a support group for trafficking survivors. In 2011 she was rescued from a brothel in Pune, now she lives with her mother in South 24-Parganas but the trauma of past haunts her always. Since 2013 more than 100 rescued woman from south 24 Parganas have joined Bandhan Mukti to help victims and girls vulnerable to trafficking. Among 200 members of Bandhan Mukti, 120 are active. Bandhan Mukti works in tandem with workers of Goranbose Gram Bikash Kendra helping in rescue and rehabilitation of trafficked woman and girls. They also monitor instances of missing girls and connect their families. They have sent many rescued girls back to school or helped them start a trade. They also spread awareness through campaign and street plays.
