Divya Nag- A Bengali dreamer and a risk-taker

Meet Divya Nag, she is one of the toppers in FORTUNE’s annual ’40-under40’ list in the year 2017. Divya has been named the 2nd Most Creative Person in Business section by Fast Company and she is included in the Disruptor’s List and Silicon Valley Top 100 innovators and there are many more in her bag.

But what most of us don’t know is that, Divya Nag is also a futurist, a darer, a dreamer and a Bengali firebrand girl, born to an NRI Bengali parents. At 20 she was dropped out of 20 and by the age of 22 she was the founder of two successful companies: Stem Cell Theranostics and StartX Med.

Divya, who was already publishing her articles in some of the prestigious scientific journals when she was an under-graduate, dropped out of Stanford to pursue her dream. And it seems that she has no regrets. ‘I was so passionate about it that nothing else made sense to me,’ she says.

However, nothing come easy, only one should have the courage to overcome them and never hold oneself back.  Just to follow her dreams, she had to drop out of prestigious University like Stanford, just to dedicate herself to full time entrepreneurship. And needless to say, she faced several stiff resistances from her Bengali parents, as most of us believe that only studies and degrees in a set direction will help our children excel in their life.
