CM tweeted tribute on 150th birth anniversary of sister Nivedita

On the eve of Sister Nivedita’s 150th birth anniversary, one would do well to recognize her life and her work, her tribute to the nation and for girls across the world. Chief minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted tribute on her birth anniversary.

She tweeted: - "Remembering educationist and social activist Sister Nivedita on her birth anniversary”.

The state government has taken up the initiative to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Sister Nivedita. It is also decided to give bravery awards to girls in her name. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had visited Wimbledon and installed a Blue Plaque on the building. In Dungannon, a statue of Nivedita has been kept in the library. Chief Minister had acquired the building where Nivedita had opened her school at 16A Bose Para Lane and handed it over to Ramakrishna Sarada Mission.its now one of Kolkata’s heritage building.
