Celebrating Her Eternal Beauty

14th February is celebrated as Valentine’s Day, the day of love all over the world. It seems God couldn’t see any other day fit to bring ‘the Venus of Indian Cinema’ to this world. Mumtaz Jehan Begum Dehlavi, popularly known as Madhubala was born on this 86-years back in 1933. Till date, she is considered as the most stunning actress in the Indian Film Industry. Madhubala captivated the audience with her beauty and excellent acting skills. She started her career at the age of 9-years as Baby Mumtaz. At the age of 14, she did her first film as the lead actress in the film ‘Neel Kamal’.

In 1951, Hollywood photographer James Burke visited India and photographed her for the ‘Life’ magazine. This makes her the first Indian woman in Hollywood. The magazine called her the ‘Biggest star’ in the international industry, not only that she was called ‘the biggest star in the world’ in 1952 by the ‘Theatre Arts’ magazine. She is known as the ‘Marilyn Munroe’ of Bollywood.

Personally, Madhubala was a very obedient daughter, she respected her father’s decision of not allowing her to attend any functions. She was in a relationship with Dilip Kumar but their relationship didn’t work out and she eventually married Kishore Kumar. Madhubala suffered from prolonged heart disease and succumbed to death at the age of only 36. She passed away in 1969. On the 86th birth anniversary of the ‘Beauty with tragedy’, Google also paid a tribute to the lady with an iconic doodle.
