When was the last time you heard an Android App was developed by a woman? “Dial Kashmir’’ is an android app developed by a Kashmiri Girl named, Mehvish Mushtaq Hakak. She is young, talented and has a profound interest in the field of technology which helped her to make the first Android app for the people of Kashmir.
‘Dial Kashmir’ is an app which helps the people to connect through the important contact numbers present in the app. It is said that the app has at least 500 government contact and including the private company’s contact numbers. When Mehvish was asked about the app she said that this app is similar to virtual yellow pages directory. As a tech-savvy, she also quoted that, “After cell phones made their way into our lives, I thought of developing an app that could act as a database for all major numbers.’’
She has done Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from SSM College of Engineering and Technology. Though being a girl, she chose an offbeat course to study. She also put efforts to learn the android developing process online. And as a fast apprentice, she developed the app in just two weeks.
Currently, 50 thousand people have downloaded the app and have rated with 4.5 stars.
