"All Women Library" New initiative at Susunia hills

Women of villages around Susunia Hills of Bankura will no long exchange their thought and tales at the bathing Ghats around the village ponds. Now, they have something which they should be proud of, a well-set up 'library only for women'. In this library they will not only just get to read books or newspapers but they can get journals, magazines and they will be able to write down their grievances and needs. How amazing it is, ladies of Bankura?

The library is situated at 'Raghunath Murmu Residential School' premises under Chhatna Police Station. The library will maintain a logbook where each woman can write down their complaint, fear, grievances and abuse story etc. And those logbooks will regularly go to the local police station that will take up the issue and help those women. The books that are in high demands are kept in the library and it is known as 'Mahila Vikas Pathagar'. Well, for now there are just books, later the library will introduce internet services and computers. The library became so much popular that almost 500 women have enrolled on the very first day.

Well there are 3 women employees at the library for now and Bankura Police department is hopeful that more women will come up with their problems.
We "JIYO BANGLA" team salute such initiative.
